General information about the noni plant

The noni tree is also known as mountain noni, forest noni, clam tree or Noni. The scientific name of the noni tree is Morinda citrifolia, belonging to
 the coffee family (Rubiaceae).

Noni is a small tree with a height of about 6 - 8m. The tree trunk is smooth, has many large branches, leaves grow symmetrically, leaf blades are 
oval, about 5 - 7cm wide, about 7 - 15cm long. White noni flowers grow on leaf stalks or branch tips. Noni fruit is egg-shaped, about 5 - 7cm long, 
rough on the outside, green when young, turning pink-white when ripe. Inside the fruit is soft, white and fragrant flesh, with a hard core.



The noni tree grows wild in Southeast Asia and the West Indies. In our country, noni trees are mainly distributed in the Central provinces such as 
Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri,... or the Southern provinces such as An Giang, Binh Duong,... Currently in the North There are 
many places where noni trees are grown such as Thai Binh, Hanoi,...

From the noni tree, people can exploit many parts to make medicine such as bark, roots, leaves, and fruits. Most parts of the noni plant can be used 
fresh, except for the roots or fruit, which can be dried for later use. This medicine is stored in a cool and dry place.
